Our Staff

Tammy Andre

Bookstore Coordinator, Worship and Pastoral Care Support
Tammy has been a member of GBPC since 2004. She is an ordained deacon, serving two terms and has served as the deacon moderator twice. In 2006, Tammy became the inaugural bookstore coordinator when the church’s Wisdom Well Bookstore opened and continues in that role. She regularly serves as a small group Bible study leader. Tammy provides support in the areas of worship and pastoral care: overseeing the distribution of fresh flowers to homebound church members, preparing for Communion in worship, serving as intentional prayer support for those in need, and updating prayer requests of congregants. She shares prayer requests with the GBPC deacons, staff, and the pastor. Tammy feels called to do and serve as she is needed. Tammy is a loving grandmother to her grandson and is a doggie mom to JoJo, her rescue dog.

Dr. Donna DeSarro-Raynal

Transitional Bridge Pastor
Before arriving at GBPC, Pastor Donna had served Wythe Presbyterian Church in Hampton, VA, for 4 years. She joined us in December 2024, and serves as our Transitional Interim Pastor, while our Pastor Nominating Committee continues its search for GBPC’s next called Pastor. Donna has strong roots in this area, having grown up in Virginia Beach. She earned her B.A. in Religion from the College of William and Mary, her M.Div from Union Presbyterian Seminary, in Richmond, VA, her Masters of Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary, and her Ph.D. in Biblical Studies again from Union. She brings with her great leadership experience which includes past pastorates, including interim work; teaching as a professor in higher education; and campus ministry service. Pastor Donna lives with her husband, Clark DeSarro-Raynal, in Newport News. Clark is also a Pastor; he serves Hilton Presbyterian Church in the Hilton Village neighborhood. They have three terrific young adult children, Josiah, Eli, and India. They’ve lived in the area almost 11 years now, and Donna loves being near the beach, traveling, watching sports, baking (less so cleaning-up), and enjoying time with friends and family.

Justin Jaynes

Facility Director
Justin Jaynes earned his degree in Electrical Engineering while on active duty from North Carolina State University and was commissioned as a Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer. He retired from active duty in December of 2022. Justin’s hobbies include woodworking, hiking, camping, and all things outdoors. Justin's wife, Heather, is a preschool teacher here at Great Bridge Presbyterian. Together they have two children, Ayden and Olivia.

Bob Jennings

Financial Secretary
Bob Jennings has been a member of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church since 1990. He has served as an Elder, Usher, Small Group Leader, and member of the Stewardship & Finance Committee. As the Financial Secretary, he is responsible for tracking and recording income to the church, providing contribution statements to donors, managing the online giving site, issuing offering envelopes, tracking annual stewardship pledges, and preparing monthly financial reports. Bob is originally from Philadelphia, PA. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Virginia Tech, and is retired from a 42-year career in financial management with the US Army. Bob has been married to his wife Chris since 1983, and they have three children and three grandchildren. In addition to finances and computers, Bob enjoys cycling, running, kayaking, pickleball, and playing with the grandkids.

Tracey Lollar

Treasurer
Tracey Lollar joined the staff as Treasurer in September 2025. She has 28 years of Finance experience in the nonprofit industry. Tracey is originally from Northern Virginia and has been a Virginia Beach resident for 25 years. Tracey has one daughter, Charlee and a granddog, Brody. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, fishing, camping and dining out.

Cheryl Madison

Organist
Cheryl Madison became our church organist in January of 1999 after moving to Chesapeake in the summer of 1998. She has been involved with church music for many years and prior to moving to Virginia she held the position of organist at Zion Covenant Church in Jamestown, NY for 9 years. She studied piano and organ in western NY state and continues to study here. Cheryl has 3 children, JT in northeastern PA, Kelly in Atlanta, and Micheal in Stuttgart, Germany. She has 5 grandchildren whom she loves visiting.

Becky Miles

Preschool Director
Becky Miles joined our preschool staff in 2015. Becky has been involved in educating children for over 20 years. She has a BS in education from Vanderbilt University and a M.Ed. from Cumberland University. Becky began her career as a kindergarten teacher at a private school in Nashville, TN. While there, she also taught fourth and fifth grade and had many opportunities to participate in school development activities such as developing new curriculum, choosing textbooks, and maintaining school accreditation. Before having two wonderful boys of her own, she taught fifth grade at Great Bridge Intermediate school. Becky and her husband JD live in Great Bridge with their sons Joseph and Joshua and have been members of Great Bridge Presbyterian since 2006.

Catie Prevost

Website Manager
Catie Prevost joined the GBPC staff in January 2022. She is a Chesapeake native and earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Regent University in 2021 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from ODU in 2024. She currently works as an Acute Care Physical Therapist. Catie enjoys cooking, hiking, and crocheting in her free time.

David Prevost

Audio and Worship Tech
David Prevost is a life-long member of GBPC since moving to Chesapeake in 1999. He graduated from both Regent University and Savannah College of Art & Design, achieving a Master’s Degree in Animation. David runs the sermon live streams every Sunday. In his spare time, he enjoys designing Lego sets and selling the instructions online.

Andrew Reader

Audio and Worship Tech
A lifelong learner and child of God, Andrew is one of our AV techs at GBPC. He attended Virginia Wesleyan for digital music composition and joined our team in the Fall of 2021. When he’s not helping with church functions, he enjoys gaming, composing music, and playing music. He currently resides in Virginia Beach.

Judi Rogers

Media Technician
Judi Rogers has been a member of GBPC since 2011. She is a retired Navy Nurse Corp Officer (CDR) and currently serves as the Elder for Hospitality on session. Judi also has a masters degree from Liberty Theological Seminary in pastoral counseling. She has worked on the AV team managing media for the church for many years. Judi enjoys reading, watching movies, and caring for her seven dogs who keep her company.

Joy Rowe

Director of Children’s Ministry
Joy Rowe, has a passion in ministry for working with children, helping them connect with God and develop a deep love for Christ. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master of Divinity from Christian Theological Seminary. Joy has 20+ years working in ministry serving Disciples of Christ churches in Indiana, North Carolina, Florida and Virginia. In her spare time, she loves reading and embroidery. To keep herself centered and focused, Joy walks every day for exercise. She lives in Suffolk. Joy has seven children and eleven grandchildren. She enjoys going to the mountains, watching movies, going out to eat and spending time with family.

Cathy Sturgeon

Contemporary Worship Leader
Cathy has over 30 years of experience singing and performing in churches. Her degree is in vocal performance, and she picked up the bass about 20 years ago. She has a passion for worship music, leading worship brings her great joy! She is married to Matt, an active-duty Psychologist with the Navy. They have 3 children, Grant, 19, Nolan, 16 and Ellie 14. They have a home in Great Bridge and love the Great Bridge community! In her free time she enjoys songwriting, volunteering with Scouting America, bike riding, swimming and hiking.

Tara Vitek

Office Manager
Tara Vitek serves as the Office Manager for GBPC. She keeps the church office running smoothly—managing administrative tasks, greeting visitors and members, and responding to questions with kindness, efficiency, and professionalism.

Rico Wilson

Sexton
A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Rico has been with Great Bridge Presbyterian Church for almost a decade. When not attending to the needs of the church, he enjoys watching comedy shows, drawing, and learning about automobiles.

Hollie Writtenberry

Director of Youth Ministry
Hollie Writtenberry brings 13 years of youth ministry experience serving Presbyterian churches in both PEVA and the Outer Banks, along with 26 years of teaching music in public and private schools. Hollie has taken youth to both Montreat and Massanetta Springs youth conferences for many years. She has one daughter, Elisabeth, a senior at the Governor’s School in Suffolk, and one son, Gideon, a rising 3rd grader.

Billye Brown Youmans

Director of Worship and Music
Billye Brown Youmans is the Director of Worship and Music at GBPC. Billye began her ministry at GBPC in August of 1994 bringing years of professional music experience to our church. Billye’s main areas of ministry include direction, programming, and leadership for a variety of choirs including the Chancel Choir, Senior Adult Choir, Flute Choir, Handbell Choirs and a children’s choir. She has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a Master of Science in Voice Performance and Pedagogy. Billye is also an Applied Music Specialist at Virginia Wesleyan University. She is a frequent clinician in area churches and schools providing coaching in choral sound, technique and diction. When relaxing, Billye enjoys cooking and reading. She is married to Rusty, has three adult children, Carter, Taylor, and Hannah, and five grandchildren, Claire, William, Emma, Katherine and Jonathan.

Our Elders & Deacons

Session of GBPC

The Session is a group of church members called Ruling Elders, elected by the congregation, who serve three year terms organized into three classes. The Session is responsible for the governance of the church, engaging in prayerful discernment, attending to how the Holy Spirit is at work in the congregation and the broader community, and guiding the church's witness to further God's will for spreading the Gospel and sharing Christ's love with all.

Board of Deacons

Deacons provide pastoral care, support, and aid to the congregation of GBPC. This may include visiting those who are sick, as well as elderly and homebound members, offering prayers, providing comfort in various ways, and meeting practical needs. All folks who regularly attend GBPC will be assigned a deacon. If you do not have a deacon, or have not been contacted by a deacon, please reach out to Mike Kloskin and he will assign you a deacon.
