My name is Pastor Donna DeSarro-Raynal
My name is Pastor Donna DeSarro-Raynal, and I am the current Transitional Pastor at the church. We have been enjoying ministry together since last January, and it has been a wonderful year of many blessings that have included continuing long-held traditions, meaningful worship services, trying new events, and learning together during Bible studies and times of fellowship. The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) was elected by the congregation in mid-2024, and worked diligently, prayerfully seeking to find the person God has led to GBPC. I am so pleased to report that they gave their report at a called congregational meeting on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, and the congregation acted to approve the call of Rev. Kim Priddy to serve as the next Head of Staff of the church. Everyone is beaming with excitement and hope for the next chapter that begins when Rev. Priddy arrives. She will begin at GBPC on Monday, Jan. 5th, 2026, and her first Sunday in the pulpit will be Jan. 11th. All kinds of grace-filled things are possible, and we know the future here will be full of joy and light, as God leads the way.
In the meantime, the church and I will praise God in thanksgiving for all that God is and does in our lives, and then we will journey together through Advent to glorious Christmas, when we celebrate our Savior’s birth. So many wonderful events are planned. I hope you will look here on the website at our Events to see everything GBPC offers during this special time of year. Our Advent theme, The Light Has Come, runs as a thread of hope and joy in Christ’s coming into the world throughout the season. Moreover, all the opportunities at GBPC, worship, small groups, Bible studies, other educational programs, fellowship, care and nurture of each other, and service and mission events that touch so many in the wider community and world, all show that this church is a faith community that is alive and at work! Together, we seek to live out the faith that God so graciously offers in Christ. Through all of it, we are blessed beyond measure. You can find that here, too. GBPC reaches out to all who walk through its doors with warm, loving hearts and says, There’s a Place for You Here. And there is!
I will be here through Christmas, and so I invite you to come and see. I hope you’ll join us this season.

Sunday Worship
We gather for worship in person and online each week:
Traditional Worship – 9:30 AM
Contemporary Worship – 11:00 AM
In the Sanctuary or Watch the Livestream

Both services follow the same Scripture and message, but the music and style differ. The 9:00 service features hymns, choir, and liturgy. The 11:00 service offers a more relaxed format with a worship band.

Great Bridge Presbyterian Church is located across from the Chesapeake Central Library. You’ll find plenty of parking in front and behind the building, with accessible spaces near every entrance.

CHILDREN & YOUTH
We love welcoming children and youth into the life of the church. On Sunday mornings, we offer age-appropriate programs and worship experiences for kids and teens, as well as nursery care for our youngest guests.
