For Kids Established in May 1988 to provide emergency shelter to families and children, ForKids has grown to become one of the largest providers of homeless services to families in Virginia.  View site listing needs

FoodBank Since 1981, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, a member of Feeding America™ and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, has been providing food for hungry people throughout Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore.  Follow the volunteer link with all the opportunities for single and groups to serve. Create an account and sign up. Weekend shifts beginning May 2 -June 20 are in the most need.  Sat and Sun. 3 shifts: 8-11, 10-1 and 12-3: Limit is 15 people per shift.  They also have weekday positions 9-12 and 1-3 for individuals in several areas at the warehouse.
Guidelines:

Prince of Peace Food Closet – Immediate needs: : jelly, juice, Jell-O, tuna,spaghetti sauce, pork & beans, canned fruit, peanut butter (16 oz), and cereal (10 to 12 oz). All of the groceries are going into:

  • 1 bag so please do not donate the large sizes, it makes the
  • bag too heavy
  • NO glass jars.

Donations can be dropped off  M W F 9 am – 3 pm;  Th 9 am – noon;  @ Parrish office

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk Wish List  The Ronald McDonald House is committed to helping families of children in need. These families are facing such difficult situations and often time tremendous financial debt with doctor and hospital obligations, and being able to provide staples helps ease at least a portion of their concern. All gifts are appreciated and the House and our families thank you sincerely for your support. Most needed at this time are FROZEN FOOD ITEMS.  View list and help!
