Giving has always been a mark of Christian commitment and discipleship. The ways in which a believer uses God's gifts of material goods, personal abilities, and time should reflect a faithful response to God's self-giving in Jesus Christ and Christ's call to minister to and share with others in the world. Tithing, which refers to the 10% that the people of God were encouraged to give to him in the Old Testament (see Leviticus 27:30), is a primary expression of the Christian discipline of stewardship. This is still a useful standard to which Christians should aspire. At the very least, we encourage members to commit a percentage of income to the work of the Lord through this church.

He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 2 Corinthians 9:10
The stewardship challenge for 2011 begins on Sunday, October 10. It commences with Anita’s message on the feeding of the vast multitudes that were following Him. Imagine the disciple’s surprise when our master satisfies the hunger of thousands with a little boy’s bag lunch! What began as merely five loaves and two small fish increased in proportion to feed a great crows. Afterwards there were enough leftovers to fill twelve large baskets!
November 14 is Celebration Sunday. It is the day we bring our seed for an abundant harvest. God has a multiplication plan: God’s provision x our investment = full-grown, robust lives for Christ!
Do you wish to participate in God’s multiplication plan? Then give generously and sacrificially to the Lord and trust that God will open the windows of heaven for you and pour down showers of His blessing! God is good…. All the Time!
